Exclusive Character Interview With Lucielle!

Interviewer: Why don’t we start with an introduction?

Lucy: Sure. Hey there. I’m Lucy—just Lucy. My best friends are Dani and Viktoria. Soldier, magic user, professional keeper of Danielle’s sanity, and the person most likely to give you a reality check if you say something stupid. I grew up on Orchard Landing, trained at the Institute, and now I spend most of my time trying to keep the magical world from falling apart. You know… casual stuff.

Interviewer: What was your childhood like?

Lucy: You mean before all the insanity? It was quiet—too quiet. My family’s… simple. We weren’t exactly the exciting and adventurous type. So when I met Danielle, it was like the universe threw me a lifeline. She was this awkward, brilliant mess of a kid, and I liked her immediately. We kind of clung to each other from the beginning. She had all this loneliness she tried to hide behind sarcasm and stubbornness, and I had walls built ten stories high. But somehow, we cracked each other open.

Interviewer: Tell us what life was like at the Institute of Magical Arts.

Lucy: Honestly? Exhausting. Half the time it felt like I was training for war, and the other half, I was just trying to survive the social games. Thankfully, Danielle is the sister I chose. She didn’t care about status or powers. She cared about people. That stuck with me. She never treated me differently. In return, I didn’t let her fall apart when she thought she was powerless. We’ve held each other up more times than I can count. She’s chaos. I’m control. We work.

Interviewer: How did you and Dani become best friends?

Lucy: We were both stubborn as hell, so naturally we clicked. She was this sweet, shy girl getting picked on for not having powers. I hated it. So I kind of adopted her. Told her I’d be her backup until she grew claws—and guess what? Now she’s got fangs too. I’d die for that girl. No hesitation.

Interviewer: Do you ever butt heads?

Lucy: Constantly. But that’s what makes us great. Dani’s impulsive, I’m strategic. She’s chaos, I’m control. We balance each other out. Except when she tries to do stupid things without telling me—then I punch her in the arm and remind her who the boss is. She’s chaotic. Hilarious. Infuriating. Loyal to a fault. Dani has this heart that just refuses to quit on people—even when they’ve hurt her.

Interviewer: What about Viktoria?

Lucy: Vik is complicated. She’s got more secrets than a locked vault and enough power to make the ground tremble. But I trust her. She’s not the kind of friend who says much, but she’ll stand beside you when it matters most. We’ve had our fights—hell, we’ve nearly killed each other—but we’ve also had each other’s backs in the worst moments.

Interviewer: How did you feel when you found out your real identity?

Lucy: It was like the world cracked open. One second, you’re just… Lucy. Then suddenly you’re someone else. You belong to something ancient, something dangerous. It felt like someone had rewritten my entire existence and forgot to warn me first. I didn’t know whether to be furious, terrified, or relieved. In the end, I think I was a little bit of all three.

Interviewer: What helped you make it through?

Lucy: Dani and Vik, mostly. Even when things got dark—and I mean dark—they never treated me differently. Never flinched. I also had to make a choice: spiral, or survive. I chose to survive. I chose to own the truth instead of letting it own me. There were moments I didn’t think I could hold it together, but I did. Piece by piece. Fight by fight.

Interviewer: Do you ever wish you didn’t know the truth?

Lucy: Sometimes. Life was simpler before. I wasn’t questioning every memory, every moment, every part of who I am. But knowing the truth gave me power—even if it came with pain. I’d rather face what’s real than live in ignorance. I don’t run from the hard stuff. That’s not who I am.

Interviewer: What’s your relationship like with the Over Lords now?

Lucy: Complicated, but strong. I trust them—especially Over Lord Ashley and Over Lord Mary. They taught me that strength isn’t about being loud or flashy. It’s about control, clarity, and protecting those who can’t protect themselves. They didn’t try to coddle me. They taught me how to fight and survive, not just physically, but emotionally. I owe them more than I let on.

They’re powerful, intimidating, and nosy as hell. But they care. Deeply. They don’t just lead, they bleed with us. And I respect that. Over time, they’ve become more like family than authority figures—especially Aunt Mary. She’s the only one who can out-stubborn me.

Interviewer: What lessons have you learned from your heritage and from the Over Lords?

Lucy: That identity isn’t about who you’re born as—it’s about who you decide to become. I was scared that knowing the truth about my race would change me. And it did. But not in the way I feared. It gave me perspective. Strength. The Over Lords taught me how to channel that—how to lead without becoming a tyrant. How to fight without losing myself. Most importantly, how to stand in my truth, even when it terrifies me.

Interviewer: What message do you have for readers?

Lucy: You’re not your past. You’re not your bloodline, your failures, or even your power. You are what you choose to be—every day, in every decision. Don’t be afraid of the parts of yourself that feel too big, too loud, too dark. Power doesn’t define you. Control does.

Interviewer: Any last words for the fans?

Lucy: Keep reading. Things are getting darker. Wilder. And a certain someone you’ve been waiting for is about to step into the spotlight. No spoilers—but let’s just say, things are only going to get more insane from here.
